Miatas at the Gap 2001

Every year hundreds of Miata owners make the yearly pilgrimage to Deals Gap, also called the tail of the dragon, which is located on the North Carolina/Tennessee border; the actual road is US 129. Why you ask? 318 turns in 11 miles, that’s why. From what I understand of the history of the Miatas at the Gap, the first year was 1997 and it started out small. Every year after that, it has grown and grown with Miata enthusiasts all over the country coming to attend (I came all the way from California). I had a great time while I was there and got to meet a bunch of really great people and saw some great Miatas; I would love to be able to go back every year but the distance is too great. I got lucky (well sort of) that the timing of my getting laid off and planning my cross country trip just happened to coincide with the Gap event. Anyway here are my pictures.
